Interprovincial pipeline right-of-way: Blanket spraying 20+ km un-reclaimed topsoil and right of way

The challenge 

In 2023, a client contacted us looking for immediate vegetation control over a 20+ km stretch of un-reclaimed topsoil along a federally regulated pipeline right of way. The site provided several challenges, including: 

• Difficult terrain: The topsoil was sporadically distributed with multiple low spots and an inability to drive from one side to the other, making conventional access impossible. 

• Restricted access: UTV or ATV traffic was the only viable option. 

• Extensive weed growth: The site required thorough vegetation control without impacting adjacent seeded crops.  

• Critical documentation: The client prioritized GPS mapping, photographic evidence, and detailed reporting to ensure compliance and to support future audit protocol. 

Our response 

Leveraging our Intelli-Spray UTV spray units and PureAim technology, we successfully completed a full blanket spray of the challenging terrain. The excessive weed growth was controlled, ensuring no spray drift into nearby seeded crops. We provided geo-stamped records, GPS mapping, and extensive photos for every turn, curve, and unique feature along the pipeline’s 20+ km stretch. This level of detail surpassed client expectations and ensured compliance with federal regulations.
